Funeral services were conducted on Sunday morning from the family residence and St. Ann's Catholic Church for Mrs. Pauline Kurtz, age 51 years, 8 months, and 11 days. Burial was in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery at Hochheim. Mrs. Kurtz passed away on February 28, 1946, in the local hospital. She was born on June 22, 1894, and was a native Texan. Rev. Joseph Pustka officiated at the last sad rites. Survivors include her husband, Charlie Kurtz of Route 1, Yoakum; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kurtz of Shiner, Mrs. Pauline Berkenhoff of Route 2, Shiner, and Miss Helen Kurtz of Route 1, Yoakum; two sons, Edwin with the US Army, and Alfonse of Route 1, Yoakum; one sister, Mrs. Mary Kocurek of Gonzales; one brother, Rudolph Hrncirik of Bebe; two step-sisters, Mrs. Mary Dornak of Route 2 Shiner, and Emma Habacek of Patterson, Texas; four step-brothers, Ralph Tichavsky of Gonzales, Joe Tichavsky of Shiner, Louis Tichavsky of Arkansas, and Emil Tichavsky of Gonzales; and four grandchildren. A loyal member of the Catholic Church; a devoted wife, mother and sister; a genial and kindly neighbor and friend has passed to her eternal reward. We extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn her loss.
