Kenneth LeRoy Manchester, passed away October 15, 2009, at his home in Ord, Nebraska. Kenneth was born January 23, 1936, in Cotesfield, Nebraska to Gerald and Ora (Walkup) Manchester. Ken spent most of his life in the Ord, Nebraska area. He worked for several farmers and was always ready and willing to help in any way he could. On September 19, 1959, he was united in marriage to Sharon Osentowski at Elyria. Nebraska. During his working years, Ken spent time on the Leo Wolf farm and also worked as an electrician for Hank Janus and Gene Augustyn. For 12 years, Ken drove a truck for Roman's Motor Freight. Later, Ken began his own business, "Ken's Electric," where his family all joined in to help with the work. For 22 years, Ken worked at the Ord, Nebraska High School and retired in 2005. Ken was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Ord Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. Ken's favorite hobby was playing the accordion. He played for many birthday parties, dances and other occasions. He enjoyed fixing small appliances and fishing and camping with his family in his younger years. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors are his wife, Sharon of Ord, Nebraska; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Gerri Leigh of Swanton, Nebraska and David and Carol of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; daughters and sons-in-law, Leora and Doug Sedlacek, Janel and Tad Melia, all of Ord. Nebraska, and Terri McClane of Lincoln, Nebraska; his twin brother and a sister-in-law, Keith and Shirley Manchester of Ord, Nebraska; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Pesek, Evelyn Janicek, Betheen and Gary Paider, all of Ord, Nebraska, and Phyllis and Bud Kallhoff of Arcadia, Nebraska. Kenneth was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his parents; sisters, Ruth Wheeler and Ester Manchester; and brothers, Lyle and Alvin Manchester.
