Adrian H. Barton Sweetwater Adrian H. Barton, 91, passed away September 17, 2009 at his residence. Adrian was born January 2, 1918 in Florence, Texas. He attended Divide School at Nolan, Texas. He served 4 years in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II ,he was stationed in the South Pacific. He met Ruth Davidson in 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah and were married 1 month later. Adrian retired from the United States Postal service in Sweetwater and served 2 terms as commissioner of Nolan County. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Nolan Cemetery with Rev. Rayburn Blair and Rev. Orvel Brantley officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. Pallbearers will be John Paul Cain, Kyle Williams Nathan Abbott, Kent Williams, John Jones. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Ruth Barton, of Sweetwater; two sons, Glenn Barton of Sweetwater and Gary Barton and his faithful companion, Sue Jennings of Arlington; one daughter, Gayla Williams and husband Kent of Benbrook; five granddaughters, Donna Barton and Ericka Barton of Austin and their mother Betty Barton of Denton, TX, Jennifer Nelson of Sweetwater, Erin Williams of Houston, and Lacy Abbott of Fort Worth; one grandson, Kyle Williams of Lubbock; two sisters-in-law, Betty Rowland of Murray, Utah and Winona Barton of Abilene.
