Emerson married Sarah Kathryn Robinette on March 28, 1899 at Lipps, Wise Co, VA. Their children were Fairva, Maude, Winfield, Ulysses, Hattie, Minnie, Jerry, Malisa, Stella, William, and Guy Wells. The Daily Local News , West Chester, Chester County, Pa. March 12, 1965 Emerson G. Wells, 85, husband of the late Sarah Robinette Wells, of Egypt Run Rd., Landenberg, died Wednesday at Community Memorial Hospital, Jennersville. Mr. Wells was born in Lipps, Va., son of the late Winfield Scott and Marguerite Fugate Wells. A retired farmer, he had worked for New Garden Township as a highway employe until his retirement. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Landenberg, and of the East Stone Gap, Va., Lodge of Odd Fellows. Survivors include five sons, Winfield S. and Ulysses G., of Glenmoore; Jerry, of Willow Run, Del.; William R., of Landenberg; and Guy G., of White Marsh, Md.; five daughters, Mrs. Maude F. Gibson, of East Stone Gap, Va.; rs. Hattie I. Massey, of Unionville, Pa.; Mrs. Minnie G. Massey, of West Grove; Mrs. Margaret M. Roat, of Media, and rs. Stella Tice, of West Chester; a brother, Joe C., of Norton Va., a sister, Mrs. Cora Graybeal, of Rising Sun, Md.; 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. WELLS - Of Egypt Run Rd., Landenberg, Pa. on March 10, 1965, Emerson G., husband of the late Sarah Robinette Wells, in his 86th year. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services fro the Foulk Funeral Home, Rosedale Ave., West Grove, Pa., on Monday, March 15, at 1 p.m. Interment Philadelphia Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
