Cooper Review- November 8, 1984- Betty Ray, age 98, of Klondike passed away Tuesday, October 23, in the Commerce Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2PM Thursday, October 25 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Commerce with Rev. Guile Seigler officiating. Mrs. Ray was born Nov. 15, 1885, in Georgia, a daughter of William and Nancy Crossley Brack. She married Thomas A. Ray in 1911 in the Needmore Community. She was a housewife and a member of the Needmore Baptist Church. Survivors include seven sons, H.E. Ray of Greenville, J.E. Ray, W.H. Ray, L.O. Ray and T.A. Ray, all of Klondike, H.V. Ray of Los Angeles, California and T.D. Ray of Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Beth Beeson and Mrs. Reba Trevilion, both of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Edna Hooten of Commerce; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
