Bio

Helen was born in Kemp TX to Virgie Lillian Green and Cleon Brown on New Years Day, 1932. She graduated from Mesquite High School in the Spring of 1950. She first married Harold McLaughlin Dec 15 1950 and they had their daughter in Sept 1951 while they were living in Shawnee Oklahoma with her husbands parents. They moved back to Mesquite Texas in the spring of 1952 and in Sept 1952 they had a son. In 1955 they moved to Urbandale in East Dallas and their second daughter was born in July 1960. They resided in this area until their divorce in 1965. In 1966 Helen remarried and in 1975 she and her husband moved to the Athens area. Helen attend UT Tyler where she graduated in 1987 with her Bachlors Degree. She started teaching in the Athens School where she had been working as a secretary. Helen lived in the Athens area until her death in 2006.
