LAWRENCE, (TNS) -- Adolph Hlavac, 63, died at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings Friday following a long illness. His home was on a farm 4 1/2 miles east of Lawrence. He was born in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States at the age of 12 with his parents and settled in the Lawrence vicinity where he spent most of his life. Survivors include his wife, Anna; four daughters, Mrs. A. T. Schutte of Lawrence, Mrs. Harold Doerfler of Salem, O., Mrs. Grant Mauraga of Sacramento, Calif. and Mrs. Willard Wonka of Rosemont; two sons, Edward, with the United States Army in Japan but now home on leave, and John of Lawrence; two brothers, Lester and Rudolph, both of Lawrence; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Herbek of Riverton, Wyo., Mrs. Joseph Bartosek of Deweese and Mrs. Joe Kotinek of Lawrence and 17 grandchildren. The body will be taken from the Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home to the farm home east of Lawrence Sunday afternoon. The Rosary will be recited Sunday at 8 p.m. at the home and services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Assumption Church at Deweese with the Rev. Gregory Petrus officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Lawrence. The Rev. Gregory Petrus officiated, and burial was at the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Lawrence. Pallbearers were Clem Skalka, David Vap, Thomas Kotinek and Don, Ed and John A. Janda.
