Bio

Robert Paul Jensen Robert Paul Jensen, 73, passed away Sept. 1, 1989 at his home in American Fork. He was born July 20, 1916 in Provo, the youngest child of Andrew and Mary Katherine Jensen. He met and married Evelyn Whitby Stagg April 10, 1954 in Salt Lake City. He was an employee of Mountain Bell for 37 years. He loved telephone work and made many friends. He was inducted into the service April 9, 1942 at Fort Douglas. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country well for over four years in the 11th Air Force. He was a Technical Sgt. and spent over two and one half years in the Aleutian Islands, that barren and lonley area in the Bering Strait, stationed on the islands of Adak and Anchipka, He served as a supervisor in establishing and maintaining lines of communication. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He received satisfaction in being mindful of the needs of family, neighbors and friends. He met his many health problems with great tolerance and courage. He is survived by his wife of American Fork; a daughter, Mrs. Jay (Barbara) Hall, and a son, Scott Jensen, both of Murray; two grandchildren he loved dearly: Shawn Hall, serving an LDS mission in Brisbane, Australia; and Nanette Hall, both of Murray; a special sister, Mrs. Elvera Bailey, Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 5, in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary, American Fork. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW District 4.
