When Katherine Harwell was born on 22 December 1915, in Falls, Texas, United States, her father, Major Maxie Harwell, was 26 and her mother, Melissa Hailey, was 23. She married Carlos Loften Lewallen on 7 April 1952, in Lovington, Lea County, New Mexico, United States. She died on 3 January 1996, in Taylor County, Texas, United States, at the age of 80, and was buried in Midway Cemetery, Hodges, Jones County, Texas, United States. ************************************************ Bio added by Findagrave member: 47855903 ... Abilene Texas --- 3 January 1996 Katherine H. Lewallen, 80 died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories with the Rev. H.B. Terry Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery in Hodges, Texas Mrs. Lewallen was born Marlin, Texas, and was a long-time Abilene resident. She and C.L. Lewallen were married in Clovis, N.M., in 1952. She worked for the Abilene State School for 10 years. She was a member of the Rose Park Senior Citizens and the Church of Christ. Survivors include four daughters, Christine Madrid of Albuquerque, N.M., Elizabeth McClurg of Iowa Park, Susie Workman of Bridgeport, Texas, and Wanda Roemisch of Abilene; four sisters, Elizabeth Taylor and Norma Clark both of Abilene, Maxine Orender of Arizona and Geneva Wood of California; and a brother, Raymond Harwell of California.
