Abilene - Wanda Joyce Roemisch, 65, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Hendrick Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, with Chaplain Jack Smith officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Wanda was born December 21, 1941 in Clyde, Texas. She was a waitress and later a gas attendant at HEB until her illness. Her joy in life was quilting and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents. Wanda is survived by her husband, Albert Joe Roemisch, of Abilene; a son, Doug Butler, of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Jamie Butler, of Abilene; a step-son, Gary Roemisch, of Stephenville, Texas; three step-daughters, Lena Minor and Mary McCarty, both of Merkel, Texas, and Marie Dickey of Round Rock, Texas; twelve grandchildren; and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in honor of Wanda to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory, Abilene, Texas 79601.
