Bio
Ben A. Cox, age 80, of Itasca, formerly of West, passed away November 25 in an Itasca Nursing Home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. November 27 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Msgr. B. J. Zientek officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Cox was born January 22, 1905 in Coryell County to Will and Lula Cox. He was a barber, retiring in 1966. Survivors include: four daughters, Earlene Boyles of Cave Junction, Oregon, Norman Riley and Janice Gillespie, both of Waco, and Anna Ruff of Beggs Oklahoma; two brothers Hazes Cox of Corsicana and Elbert L. B. Cox of Waco; four sisters, Tennie Low and Jewell Robinson, both of Rt. 1 West, Viola Smith and Dovie Edwards, both of Waco; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers were: Melvin Jares, Jimmy Rich, Larry Rich, Ralph Cressman, Jim Rich and Elmer Cox. The West News, West, Texas, November 28, 1985
