Bio
Dovie Edwards, 91, of Waco, died Thursday, May 25, 2006. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with Dr. Eric Holleyman officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Dovie was born in West, Texas, to the late W. C. and Lou (Trammel) Cox. She was a charter member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and for many years worked in the church nursery. She married Moody E. Edwards on Aug. 29, 1932, in McLennan County, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, on Dec. 7, 1977; and a son, Dwain Edwards. Survivors include sons, Edwin Edwards and wife, Dorothy, of Waco, Tommy Edwards and wife, Lauri, of Hewitt; grandchildren, Brian W. Edwards, Patrick L. Edwards, Donna Starner and Rhonda Daniel; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan Daniel and Cameron Daniel; a half-sister, Pauline (Polly) Cox Wilson. Waco Tribune-Herald: 5/27/2006 - 5/28/2006...PRP8
