Husband of Ivy C. Cox *************** Obituary (Missouri Valley Times, March 11, 1964) DEATH TAKES ALEX B. COX AT AGE OF 79 Alex Breeze Cox, 79, of 213 George Street, a well-known resident of the Missouri Valley community, died Tuesday night in St. Joseph Hospital, Omaha. He had been hospitalized for about three weeks. The Rosary will be recited at the Hennessey & Van Cleave Chapel at 8:15 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held in St. Patrick's Church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Frazier Cemetery. Mr. Cox was born Sept. 19, 1884 on a farm northeast of Missouri Valley. His parents were Perry J. and Barbara Barnett Cox. Mr. Cox attended the Raymond School. He ws a lifetime resident of this community. On August 7, 1909 he was married at Blair, Neb., to Ivy Steele. A farmer many years, he retired in 1941 and moved to Missouri Valley. Surviving are his wife, Ivy, of Missouri Valley; one daughter, Dolores Greenlee of Rapid City, S.D.; one son, Philip Cox of Enid, Okla.; one sister, Bertha Cox Laughery of Glendale, Cal.; and six grandchildren.
