Wife of Alex R. Cox ******************** Ivy C. Cox, of Council Bluffs, died in Council Bluffs on January 30. She was born on August 10, 1891, in Castana, Iowa, the daughter of William and Winifred Denton Steele. She lived most of her life in Missouri Valley until moving to Council Bluffs in 1977. Her husband, Alex, died on March 10, 1964. Funeral services were held on February 2, at 10 a.m. at the St. Patricks Catholic Church, Missouri Valley, with Father Daniel Clarke and Father Benedict Kenkel. Burial was in the Frazier Cemetery. Fred Schwertley was the soloist and Marjorie Gravert was the organist, Pallbearers were James Greelee, Roy Neil, Cecil Neil, William O'Rourke, James Cooper, and Simon Seidel, Hennessey, VanCleave and Hurley funeral home handled the arrangements. Survivors are: one daughter, Dolores Seidel, of Council Bluffs; one son, Philip, of Enid, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and two great - grandchildren.
