Bio
Mildred McKee, 84, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009, in Fort Worth. Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church. Interment: Mountain Peak Cemetery in Midlothian, TX. Mildred was born Sept. 4, 1924, on the Hollabaugh farm near Mt. Peak. She was married to Thomas William "Bill" McKee on 31 Oct 1941 and moved to Burbank, CA where he worked for Lockheed Aircraft. In 1944 she and Tommy returned to the Hollabaugh farm when Bill entered WWII. When Bill returned they moved to Midlothian and worked for Consolidated Aircraft in Ft. Worth. The family moved to Fort Worth in 1947 where Mildred worked for General Dynamics and Novikoff Furniture Mfg. Mildred was preceded in death by her son, Larry M McKee. Survivors: Husband, Thomas W. Bill McKee of Fort Worth; son, Thomas and wife, Kathy; daughter, Robbie and Richard, of Abilene;8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and sister's Anita and Merle. modified from the original version Published in Ft. Worth Star-Telegram on 6/25/2009. The memorial photo shows Daddy Bill tending Mom's grave with the same level of tender care as when he tended her for a number of years as she suffered from dementia. He spent hours each day patiently answering the same questions for her multiple times a day.
