Bio

Warren Douglas Spain, 76, of Dawson, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009, in Corsicana. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Wade Funeral Chapel, Hubbard, with interment to follow in Dawson Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Warren was born in Decatur, Texas, to the late Clyde Warren and Nellie Christine (Rawle) Spain. He was a retired rancher who loved people, horses, cattle and playing dominoes. Warren was a member of Navarro Mills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley; son-in-law, Bubba Davis; and two sisters, Leona Burk and Alma Maxey. Survivors include daughters, Brenda Davis, of Hallsville and Patti Claxton and husband, Larry, of Moore, Oklahoma; son, Doug Spain, of Dawson; grandchildren, Brandi Mikles and husband, Cory, Matthew Claxton and wife, Heather, Cristina Davis, Cari Claxton, Justin Spain, Jerred Spain, Jalyn Spain and Jade Spain; great-grandchildren, Bailee and Bethany Mikles; brothers, Clyde Spain and wife, Mavis and Don Spain and wife, Dean; sisters, Emodine Boydston and Nell Stone, all of Decatur; special friend, Donnie Hanna, of Corsicana; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Jamie Stone, Jerred Spain, Justin Spain, Vic Walthers, Curtis Spain and Glenn Spain. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard McGriff, Hugh Warren, Scotty Anderson and Matthew Claxton. Memorials may be made to Navarro Mills Baptist Church. WT: 6/02/2009...I4
