Bio

Pleasantville News--Calvin Edwin Bunch was born in Indiana September 20, 1850 and died at a sanitarium in Osceola, Iowa August 26, 1929 at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 7 days. On June 30, 1867 in Madison county, Iowa he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Sites and to their union four children were born -- Willie and Lee deceased; Frank Bunch of Anaheim, California and Mrs. Clara Perry of Dallas, Iowa. On October 28, 1883 at Bloomfield, Iowa, deceased was united in marriage to Charlotte Elizabeth Brent. To this union were born three children -- Ernie dying in infancy. The living children are Orville Bunch of Pleasantville and Mrs. Daisy Bonecutter of Orange, California, and two step sons: Walter Brent of Pleasantville and Bert Brent of Lewiston, Montana; also 30 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two brothers, W.D. Bunch of Locust, Missouri and C.L. Bunch of California; and two sisters, Mrs. Lou Bonine of Omaha, Nebraska and Mrs. Sadie Barnett of Linden, Iowa. When a young man Mr. Bunch united with the Christian Church and later, to accompany his wife, united with the Methodist Episcopal Church. He is a member of the local Masonic Lodge. The deceased was an excellent citizen, a just man as well as a thoughtful and loving father and husband. Many sorrowing relatives and a host of friends and neighbors mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at the local Christian Church Wednesday, August 28, conducted by Rev. Arthur Wright. Burial services were in charge of the local Masonic lodge and interment was in the Hartford cemetery.
