Services for Albert Anthony Bateman, 64, Edgewood, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel, Edgewood. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Bateman died April 10, 2008, in Grand Saline. He was born May 1, 1943, in Edgewood, to William Austin and Leamor Tidwell Bateman. He was a lifelong resident of Edgewood, where he attended school. He was self employed as a carpenter. He married Patricia Evelyn Ethridge in 1975. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Edgewood. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Wanell and James Mitchell. Survivors include his wife, Pat Bateman, Edgewood; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Candy Bateman, Barney Bateman and Bodean Bateman, all of Edgewood, and Avon and April Bateman, Big Sandy; daughters and sons-in-law, Vonda and Eric Ridgway, Canton, and Donna and Ken Swindall, and Nancy Bateman, and fiancée Lonnie Lee, all of Edgewood; stepsons Dewayne Rosemand, Haslet, and Daniel Rosemand, Grand Saline; brothers and sister-in-law, Herman Bateman, Farmers Branch, and Donny Lee and Donna Bateman, Munster; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Glenn Clower, Grand Saline; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
