Lillian was the fifth of seven children born to William M. and Nancy Ann (Christmas) McCullough. She married Joseph "Joe" Bailey Cole Sr. in 1939 and they were the parents of one son: Joseph Bailey Cole Jr. Fort Worth Star-Telegram, TX October 15, 1999 CLEBURNE - Lillian E. Cole, 90, retired from the retail clothing business, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, in Keene. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Cleburne. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Friday in Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood. Lillian E. Cole was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Brownwood. In 1953, she moved to Cleburne with her sister Geneva McCullough and ran a ladies' ready-to-wear shop called McCullough & Cole in the 200 block of South Main Street until 1964. Following the death of her sister in 1965, she worked for Gustafson's department store as the chief buyer and salesperson of the ladies' ready-to-wear. She had been a member of First Baptist Church of Cleburne since 1953 and was a former Sunday school teacher for the Mary Martha Class. She was active in the Business and Professional Women's club from 1953 to 1977. In 1988, she retired at the age of 79. Survivors: Her son, Joe Bailey Cole of London, England, and Fire Island Pines, N.Y.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mountain Valley Funeral Home Burleson, 517-5995
