Eva was the third of seven children born to William M. and Nancy Ann (Christmas) McCullough. She married Jesse Willis Bennett in 1919 and they had seven children: Azalena, Jessie Allen, Miriam, William Onnie Lee, Bettie Jean, Joseph Franklin and Eva Nell. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery. Mrs. Bennett died at 8:20 a.m. Saturday in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. Born March 16, 1902 in McColloch County, she married Jesse W. Bennett in 1918 in Corsicana. He died in September 1940. She was a housewife and a member of the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. She lived for 67 years in Brownwood. Survivors include three daughters, Azalena Jackson of Harper, and Betty Redwine and Eva Nell Carmack both of Brownwood; a son, Joe Bennett of Brownwood; two sisters, Lillian Cole of Cleburne and Talma Blake of Stephenville; a brother, Norton McCullough of Brownwood; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
