Mrs. J. A. Nelson (Mary Hartshorn) died on April 29,1929. She was born in Galena ILL. May 21, 1848 the youngest daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. George Hartshorn a Methodist minister in Wisconsin and Iowa in early pioneer days. At the age of sixteen she came with her parents to Mason City IA. where she later taught school. On June 29, 1869 she was married to J.A. (John Andrew) Nelson a merchant in Mason City, Iowa. Later they moved to Foxhome, Minn. where they have resided for twenty five years. On last December 24, Mrs. Rose Nelson daughter-in-law contacted the flu and died the following day. On December 29, Mrs. Nelson succumbed to the same disease and suffered from complications caused from it until her death. Both she and her daughter-in-law were faithful bible students and willing workers in the church and Sunday School of Foxhome. Mrs J. A. Nelson leaves a husband and six children, a daughter, Beatrice Holden of San Diego, Cal. and five sons, E.G. Nelson (Elijah George) of Fargo, N.D.; E. J. (Elisha John) Nelson of Denver, Colo; R. M. (Ralph Milligan) of Washburn, N.D.; B. R. (Birchard Rutherford) and H.L.
