Bio

Sallie Belle Phillips was born 20 February 1899 in Georgia, the daughter of Robert Perry Phillips (1856 - 1939) and Martha Christina Bowers Phillips (1867 - 1942). Siblings: Stephen Henry Phillips (1887-1970), Tula Maude Phillips [Johnson] (1892-1986), James Tom Phillips (1895-1937), Mary Mae Phillips [Hamilton?] (1902-1983). She was married to Homer Pittman and they were the parents of 2 sons: Edward Earl Pittman and James David Pittman but that marriage ended in divorce. She later married ? Mitchell. She died 17 January 1962 in Georgia and was buried in the Coulter Memorial Cemetery in Cassandra, Walker, Georgia.
