DR. V. V. KOBZA SUCCUMBS TODAY Dr. V. V. Kobza, 41, well-known Rapid City physician, died early Friday morning at a local hospital. He was a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology and maintained offices at the Rapid City Medical Center. Kobza was stricken with a heart attack at his home shortly after midnight and was taken to the hospital by Hobart ambulance. Funeral services are pending and will be under the direction of the Hobart Funeral Home. Dr. Kobza was born in Ulysses, Nebraska, July 27, 1014. He graduated from high school at Dwight, Nebraska and from Creighton University at Omaha in 1942. He was married in Dwight, Nebraska, January 12, 1945 to Mae Maixner. The family came to Rapid City from Omaha in 1947 and Dr Kobza maintained his practice here since. In addition, he was head of the obstetrics and gynecology department at both St John's and Memorial Hospitals. Professional affiliations included membership in the American Academy of Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Medical Association, South Dakota State Medical Association, Black Mills District Medical Society, and the Rapid City Medical Society. He also belonged to the Creighton Alumni Association and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Tom, Robert and John and three daughters, Barbara Kay, Mary Elizabeth and Margaret Ann, all of Rapid City, has mother, Mrs. Joseph Kobza, Dwight, Nebraska, sisters, Mary, Lincoln, Nebraska, Ann, Ulysses, Nebraska, two brothers, Sylvester and Frank, both of Ulysses Nebraska.
