Bio

"Bettie" was born in Gwinnett Co., GA, the daughter of Abraham SUDDERTH and Tempie HARRIS. She and her parents emigrated in 1852, but her mother died in route and was buried in the Mississipi River bottoms. Abe settled in Wood Co., TX, then moved to the Leonard area. Bettie married first Jesse LONDON with whom she had children Albert Franklin, A.C., William Henry, and Theophilus O. LONDON. Following Jesse's death in 1875, she married Leonidas Baxter "Lon" TEFTELLER, by whom she had Lula "Lou" SMITH, Hattie SIKES, May SIKES, Minnie (d.y.), Jake (d.y.), Tommie HALE, Grover and Rodney.
