Daughter of Joseph Green McGann and Jane Day, both of England. Joseph Green McGann was the son of Daniel McGann and Elizabeth Green of Leeds, W. Yorks, England. Jane Day was the daughter of John Michael Day and Martha Jordan of Stamford, Lincs, England. (Actual birth year 1857.) Wife of Denis Quinn, Sr. Married in Birmingham, Warwickshire in 1880 and had nine children. The first seven born in England. The youngest two born in Austin. Mother of: Katherine Mary Quinn Nash 1881–1978 Florence Mary Elizabeth Quinn Fisher 1882–1954 (daughter Minnie Mae) Dennis Martin Patrick Quinn 1884–1949 Mary Jane Josephine Quinn Getchius 1886–1965 Thomas Edward Quinn b. England 24 July 1887-1915 Joseph Sebastian Quinn b. 30 Oct. 1888 in Birmingham, England - d. 1966 in Texas Martha Elizabeth (Madge) 1890–1947 Marguerite Frances Quinn Jenkins 1896–1993 Lenora E. Quinn 1898–1902 Her son Thomas Edward Quinn died in service as a firefighter saving others' lives during a flood in Austin Texas in 1915. His name is on a memorial to fallen firefighters on the grounds of the Texas state capitol building. In 1892 Dennis and his mother Mary sailed to New York City then traveled to Austin where Dennis had a job lined up. Elizabeth remained in England and sewed gloves for a living. Finally in 1895 after years of Dennis living and working in Austin, they had saved enough for the passage for Elizabeth and their children. Elizabeth and their seven children sailed on the ship Belgenland to Philadelphia in October of 1895.
