Sioux County Index - October 8, 1997 William Kuipers William Kuipers, 89, of Hull died Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Verlyn Boone officiated. Interment followed at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. William was born Oct. 9,1907, at Hull, the son of Gerrit and Gertie (Vander Kooi) Kuipers. He lived in the Hull area all of his life. He was employed by the Hull Cooperative Gas and Oil Company and also operated his own business of corn shelling and baling for area farmers. He later worked for the City of Hull. On Jan. 11, 1933, he married Florence Clearbout at Hull. She died Jan, 9,1988, at Rock Valley. "Bill" was a member of the First Reformed Church, where he served as a deacon, elder, and Sunday School teacher. Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Judene and Sid Stallinga of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a son and his wife, Glen and Shirley Kuiper of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Shon Stallinga; a greatgrandson, Ethan Kuiper, two brothers and four sisters. Memorials may be directed to the new organ fund at the First Reformed Church in Hull.
