Sioux County Capital - January 14, 1988 Mrs. Florence J. Kuipers, age 81, of Hull, passed away Saturday, January 9, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley. Florence Janet was born August 30, 1906, at Hull, the daughter of G. William Claerbout and Jennie Jansma Claerbout. On January 11, 1933, she married William Kuipers at Hull. They made their home in Hull. In 1984, she was severely injured in a traffic accident. For the past three years, she has been a resident of Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Hull and Reformed Church Women. She had also served as a Sunday School and catechism teacher and as a choir member. In addition, she had been involved in community activities, including Farm Bureau Homemakers and Sunshine Club. Survivors include her husband, "Bill"; daughter, Mrs. Sid (Judene) Stallinga, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; son, Glen, of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, one greatgrandson; and three sisters, Mrs. Henrietta De Leeuw of Orange City, Mrs. Winifred Van Schepen of Hull, and Mrs. John A. (Wilma) Boer of Lakewood, Calif. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Shon Stallinga, and one sister, Angeline Stientjes. Funeral services were held Monday, January 11, at the First Reformed Church of Hull, with the Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
