HUGH LAFAYETTE HARGROVE was born on 22 June 1835 in Lawrence County, Alabama to James Hargrove & Rebecca Wells Higginbotham-Hargrove. Hugh married Ellen Josephine Penn on 04 Dec 1867 in Hopkins County, Texas, and they had SEVEN children (that are known of): Henry Lee Hargrove (1868-1938), James Walter Hargrove (1869-1870), Flora Alice Hargrove-Patterson (1870-1949), Mark Leslie Hargrove (1873-1914), Pinkney Settle Hargrove (1875-1941), Warren Penn Hargrove (1877-1903), and Hugh Maxey Hargrove (1880-1943). Hugh passed away on 08 October 1884 in Hopkins County, Texas and was buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas.
