WILLIAM CHESTER HARGROVE Sr. was born on 09 Jan 1825 in Edgefield District, South Carolina to James Hargrove & Rebecca Wells Higginbotham. William was a Carpenter. William married Susan Evelyn Tippet on 9 December 1852 in Clairborne Parish, Louisiana, and they had FIVE children (that are known of): Johnathan "John" Tippett Hargrove (1853-1926), James Lafayette Hargrove (1855-1870), Adalade "Addie" Gertrude Hargrove (1857-1925), William C. Hargrove Jr. (1862-1950), and Gary Otto Hargrove (1875-1962). William passed away on 17 Feb 1903 in Sulphur Springs, and was buried at the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas.
