Son of Charles C. Crawley and Martha Aubrey. He was named after his grandfather. Husband of Lucinda Martha "Lucy" Yates who he married in Gravelly Hill, Yell County, Arkansas in 10/7/1880. As an adult, George followed farming for his vocation. He died of Hypostatic Pneumonia, Chronic Poly-valvular heart and general weakness of old age per his death certificate. Obituary from The Wellington Leader February 13, 1936: "George Hugh Crawley, 79, died at his home in the Loco community Sunday night, Feb. 9, at 9:25 o'clock, following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Crawley was born Sept. 13, 1856, in Alabama, and at the time of his death was 79 years, four months and 26 days of age. He was widely known in this county and formed many friends here during the 26 years he resided in the county. Included among those who mourn his passing are numerous old settlers who knew him in the early days of the county. He also had many younger friends who knew him as his children grew up. In 1880 Mr. Crawley was married to Miss Lucy Yates who died in November of 1907. To this union was born nine children, three of whom are dead and six who survive him. Those who survive him are C. Crawley, Mrs. Ida Killian, Willie Crawley, and R. R. Crawley, all of Wellington, Mrs. Vera Gunstream of Fresno, and Miss Vada Crawley of Midland, He is also survived by his wife, Mrs. G. H. Crawley, who before their marriage in June, 1925, was Mrs. L. A. Terry. Other surviving relatives are two brothers, three sisters, a number of grandchildren, and many other relatives. Mr. Crawley was converted in 1883, and united with the Free Will Baptist Church. He later joined the Methodist Church, and has been a faithful member of that organization."
