Leeford Hudson Haile was the son of Mead J. Haile and Livy Ann Cavin who migrated from Bedford Co, TN to Stone Co, MO, and finally on to Cooke Co, TX about the end of the Civil War. Leeford H. Haile enlisted in the Confederate service in the summer of 1862 and served under Col. S. P. Burn's Reg., Eleventh Mo. Infantry, Co. F, and was paroled at the close of the war in 1865 at Shreveport, La. (Confederate) He was teaching school in Collin County, TX for the 1870 census. Leeford married Mary Louisa Nichols on January 26, 1869, in Collin Co, TX. They had five children. Mary Louisa Haile applied for and received a Confederate Pension after her husband died. ..................... I requested a picture of his tombstone and received the following reply: "I have walked the cemetery three times taking headstone photographs. I have not found one for this person. However, there are several stones flat to the ground which have no name or the name is illegible." SIGH.....
