Bio
Eric G Speidel was born in Dublin City on 16 May 1908 to Joseph and Jennie (Townley) Speidel. He was their firstborn. His father and grandfather were pork butchers and he went into the family business in his early teens. He was educated at Wesley College. On 12 May 1936, he married Iris Price at Drumcondra Church. They had eight children. On 31 October 1952, Eric, his wife, and their 8 children, along with their maid, immigrated to the United States where they settled at 714 South 25th Street in Colorado Springs. Almost 8 years later, Eric died of melanoma cancer. His eldest daughter had just gotten married, but he left behind 7 children, the youngest who was just 8years old.
