Ethel was the daughter of Robert Madison Coats and Oda Taylor. Siblings were Jesse Homer, Zola Mae, Otho Herman, Odis Raymond, and Iva Lorene Coats. Ethel Rae married Bert Thomas Williams. Ethel was the mother of Flossie (1912-1997) and Floyd (born abt 1915).
