Adolph Marek, 50, Dies January 13 of Leukemia Adolph Marek, 50, died of leukemia in a Waco hospital Friday, January 13. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Czech Moravian Brethren Church here with Rev. F. J. Kostohryz officiating. Burial was in the West National Cemetery. Mr. Marek was a farmer. He was born near Abbott and lived in the West community all his life. He married the former Helen Koval on July 22, 1930. He was a member of the Czech Moravian Brethren Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Helen Marek; a son, Adolf Marek of West; a daughter, Mrs. Willie Mae Dornak of Ft. Worth; one grandchild, Melvin Dornak of Ft. Worth; two brothers, Frank Marek of West and Joe Marek of Abbott; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Matus of Abbott, Mrs. Albina Kral and Mrs. Rosie Matus, both of West. Pallbearers were: Raymond Hromadka, Louis Matus, Eugene Hromadka, Edmund Marek, Frank Matus and Ernest Matus. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 65, No. 37, Ed. 1 – Friday, January 20, 1956
