PASSED AWAY JUNE 22 DEATH OF VINCENT KUCERA Funeral Services Were Held on Friday Afternoon Funeral services for Vincent Kucera, who passed away at the David City hospital Wednesday morning, June 22 [1938], were held at the McVay funeral home at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon [June 24, 1938], in charge of Rev. William Richards of Congregational church. Two hymns, “Rock of Ages” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,” were sung by Mrs. Raymond Bock, with Florence Johnson piano accompanist. Mr. Kucera’s nephews, Anton Kucera, Lod Kucera, Harry Kucera, Ludvik Divis, Lewis Osmera and John Culek were pallbearers. Burial was in the David City cemetery. Those in attendance at the funeral from out of town were Mrs. Charles Janousek and son and Mr. and Mrs. Ludvik Divis of Loma, Mrs. Mary Weverka and son and Mrs. John Kucera of Brainard, John Culek of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mike Kucera and daughter of Omaha, and Louis Osmera of Bruno. Mr. Kucera was 63 years of age. He was born January 6, 1875 in Moravia. At the age of two years he came to America with his parents. They located on a farm in Butler county and he resided there until 1910, when he moved with his parents to David City. He is survived by three brothers, Frank J. Kucera and John J. Kucera of David City and Mike Kucera of Omaha. Card of Thanks—We wish to acknowledge with sincere thanks the kind expressions of sympathy during illness and at time of death of our brother.
