Her parents were Thomas Steyskal and Anna Dolezal. She married Mathias (Matej) (Mike) Kúzúra (Kucera) on 18 Feb 1868 in Aujezd Village, Běhařovice Parish, Třebíč Region, South Moravia, Austrian Empire (2016 Location: Újezd Village and Municipality, Znojmo District, Jihomoravský Region, Czech Republic). She departed with her husband and family from Hamburg, Germany, on 31 Jul 1878, on the ship SS Gellert, arriving in the Port of New York on 13 Aug 1878. ''''''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), November 14, 1935, p. 1, col. 4 Died at Advanced Age Mrs. Anna Styskal Kucera died at her home in East David City on Friday, Nov. 8, after illness of a week due to her advanced age, 87 years. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning, Nov. 11, conducted by the pastor, Rev. William Murphy, and burial was in the David City Catholic cemetery. Four sons and two grandsons of Mrs. Kucera acted as pallbearers. Anna Styskal was born in Oujesd, Czechoslovakia, March 11, 1848. She was married to Mike Kucera and they came to Butler county in 1878, residing on a farm three miles south of Bruno until 1908, when they moved to David City. Five children, four sons and one daughter, were born to them, all of whom survive, namely, Frank of Genoa, Mike of Bruno, Anna Culek of Chicago, John of David City and Jim Vincent at home. Mr. Kucera died February 1, 1915.
