Bio

Myrtle Point -- Services for Leston Gilford Dickey, 74, Myrtle Point, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Myrtle Point Christian Church by Rev. Steve Caulley. Interment will follow at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens. Services are being handled by the Myrtle Point Chapel. He was born Oct. 16, at Durham, Okla., and died Dec. 22 at Myrtle Point. He was a Myrtle Point resident since 1954, and a member of the Myrtle Point Christian Church. He was married to Mary Frankford Oct. 16, 1934 at Dempsey, Okla. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the county before his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Myrtle Point; a son, Kenneth Dickey of Myrtle Point; a daughter, Shirley Sams of Myrtle Point; grandsons Melvin, David, Rodney, and Donny; granddaughters Rosalind, Dianna, two great-grandchildren; and two brothers. The family suggests donations to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, 360 N. Michigan Ave, Chicago, Ill 60601.
