Bio

Richard Amon is the son of Solomon Dickey and Rebecca Jane Barker both of whom are buried in McKeever Cemetery in Jasper County, Iowa. Richard was married to Sharlottie Longcor September 28, 1887 in Gaylord, Smith Co., Kansas. He and his wife Sharlottie "Lottie" Longcor came to Oklahoma with seven children as the state was being started and settled in Roger Mills County. They lived in Rankin for a time as well as Reydon. Richard was the father of 11 children, 3 of which are buried in the same cemetery as he. During his life he was a farmer, yet he still found time to be on the school board.
