Johnson, 84, of Cravens were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11 in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Cravens with the Revs. Arlin Smith, Larry Burris and Tony Potttneyer officiating. Burial followed in the Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Mrs. Johnson died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1993 in the Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. She was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church, a retired Civil Service employee from Fort Polk as a seamstress. She was well noted for distinguished handmade quilts, patterns and different crafts Survivors include three sons, Paulene Johnson, of Goodrich, Texas, James C. "Doc" Johnson, of Pitkin and Jimmie L. Johnson, of Pitkin; five daughters, Jackie Maricle, of Pitkin, Ruby Burrows, of Goodrich, Texas, Bobbie Mullin8, of Goodrich, Texas, Bettie Featherly, of Texas City, Texas and Inita Thorsen, of Tioga; one sister, Ina Johnson, of Pitkin; 28 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gravel Hill Cemetery Association, Route 2, Pitkin, LA 70656.
