Inita Ashmore Funeral services for Inita (Johnson) Ashmore will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2021, in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Arlen Smith officiating. Committal service will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Visitation will be held in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church, 1382 Gravel Hill Church Road, Pitkin, Louisiana 70656 on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. in the church. Inita, 70, of Deville, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in her residence. She was born July 5, 1951, in Pitkin, Louisiana to James France Johnson and Lona (White) Johnson. Her parents, James and Lona Johnson; husband, James Ashmore; siblings: Jackie Maricle, Ruby Burrows, James "Doc" Johnson, Bobbie Mullins, and Robbie Johnson; precede her in death. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Shaunda (Jacob) Jordan of Deville, Jeffrey Thorsen of Tioga, and Daniel Thorsen of Tioga; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four siblings: Paulie Johnson of Livingston, Texas, Jimmie (Gwen) Johnson of Pitkin, and Darlene (Arlen) Smith of Pitkin, Bettie Featherly of Texas City, Texas; along with a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Jacob Jordan, Joey Bass, Daniel Thorsen, Colton Thorsen, and Kaden Thorsen. Honorary pallbearer to serve will be Jeff Thorsen.
