Ruby Lea Johnson Burrows Funeral services for Ruby Lea Johnson Burrows will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Larry White and Reverend Arlen Smith officiating. Committal service will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Ruby, 89, of Dickinson, Texas, entered eternal life on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Clear Lake, Texas with her loving family by her side. She was born August 9, 1929 in Cravens to the union of James "France" Johnson and Lona White Johnson. She enjoyed sewing and watching QVC. She loved her profession of nursing. Ruby was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She is preceded in by her parents, France and Lona Johnson; her husband, Thurl H. Burrows, two sons, Wattie L. and Timothy Burrows; two brothers, James "Doc" Johnson and Robbie Johnson; two sisters, Jackie Johnson Maricle and Bobbie Johnson Mullins. Those left behind to cherish her memory are: her daughter, Sharlene (Richard) Miller of Ragley; one son, Russell (Penny) Burrows of Lake Charles; daughter-in- law, Judy Burrows of Dickinson, Texas; two brothers, Jimmie (Gwen) Johnson of Cravens and Paulie Johnson of Goodrich, Texas; two sisters, Bettie Featherly of Texas City, Texas and Inita Johnson Ashmore of Deville; grandsons, Jeremie (Jessica), Joshua, Lynn, Terry and Todd (Leigh); granddaughter, Lisa; seven great grandchildren, Shamus, Elizabeth, Jase, Jailea, Kylie, Keria and Maddie; along with a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be her nephews. Visitation will be held in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. in the church.
