William Henry Abbott was the son of John Butler Abbott and Elizabeth Ann Cordelia Ford, both from South Carolina. He was born on November 29, 1847 in Tippah County, MS. He married Sarah Frances "Fannie" Bloodworth on April 14, 1872 in Holly Springs, Marshall Co, MS. William and Fannie were the parents of: John Aurelius Abbott b. 2/9/1873 Ella May Abbott b.7/8/1875 Stella Elizabeth Abbott b. 4/7/1877 Ollie Belle Abbott b. 12/3/1882 William Lloyd Abbott b. 9/20/1887 Clyde Ernestine Abbott b. 1/9/1891
