Married to Anna Maud "Annie" BOWERS on February 5, 1899 in Mt. Ida, Montgomery, Arkansas, by S. S. Lee, Justice of the Peace. Married to Lura Irma Mitchell on January 1, 1928 in Paris, Lamar, Texas. Andy Oliver ROBERTS was born on January 12, 1880 in Montgomery Co., Arkansas, and appeared on the census on June 18, 1880 in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. He was a farmer between 1899 and 1902 in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. He appeared on the census on June 5, 1900 in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. He was a farmer and grew corn and cotton. He was granted a land patent on March 8, 1905 in Montgomery Co., Arkansas. Between 1906 and 1912 he lived in the Hopewell Community, Lamar, Texas. He appeared on the census on April 25, 1910 in Lamar Co., Texas. In 1912 the family moved to Womble (now Norman), Montgomery, Arkansas, in a covered wagon, crossing the Red River on a ferry. He owned a grocery store/restaurant and butcher shop between 1912 and 1913 in Womble (now Norman, Montgomery, Arkansas. Andy Oliver ran the butcher shop while Annie Maud and the daughters ran the restaurant and grocery store which were all located in the same building. A notice in the Montgomery County Review newspaper on August 30, 1913: Notice: All parties knowing themselves to be indebted to me are requested to call and settle their accounts, as I am closing out my business. A. O. Roberts. They moved back to the Hopewell Community in 1913, and then to the Red Oak Community in 1917. He was a farmer and grew cotton, corn and peanuts between 1913 and 1956. He appeared on the census on February 6, 1920 and April 16, 1930 in Lamar Co., Texas. An article from The Paris News, 1963: "Out east of Red Oak Cemetery, 83-year-old A. O. Roberts still plants and cultivates his own little plot of land. He handles a half-acre with a push-type plow. No mule or tractors." He lived in Odessa, Ector, Texas with his son, Wilbur, and his wife, Nettie between April 6, 1966 and February 28, 1967 after becoming ill. He died on February 28, 1967 in Odessa, Ector, Texas of a series of strokes. According to Wilbur F. Roberts, his son, Andy Oliver really enjoyed life. He never met a stranger, would walk up to someone, introduce himself, and be kidding the other person about something in a few minutes. He enjoyed telling stories about his early years, and was respected by everyone in the community.
