Ruby Laverne Nickels, 71, of Waco, passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2008. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. She was born on March 10, 1937, in Navarro County, Texas, to the late Quincey Blayloch and Mary Jane (Smith) Jackson. She and Edward Dudley Wilks were married in 1957. Ruby is survived by her son, Edward Ray Wilks and his wife, Toni, of Waco; granddaughter, Johana Lovett, of Waco; sisters, Pearlie May Berry and Joyce Birdwell; brother, Robert Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
