Bio
Pearlie Mae Berry, 86, of Corsicana, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014, at her residence. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2014, at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Corsicana. Pearlie was born in Donie, Texas, to the late Alva C. Layton and Mary Jane Smith Layton. Pearlie Mae married Kenneth Floyd Pope on 19 Nov 1974 in Arlington, Texas, She moved to Corsicana in 1978 and spent most of her adult life working at The Old Mexican Inn here. She and Kenneth separated and later divorced on 16 Jul 1990, in Navarro County, Texas. She was a loving and caring mother to her four children. Her grandchildren were always welcome in her home and memories made there will be cherished by all. She was preceded in death by four brothers; and a sister. Survivors include her sons, Philip Berry and Larry Berry; daughters, Deborah Lucas and husband, Joe, and Wanda Berry; grandchildren; Eric Berry, Tim Lucas, Chris Lucas, Melanie Dinwiddie and Shawn Hall; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Birdwell; brother, Leroy Layton; many other relatives and numerous friends.
