A7) Columbus Container employee Alta Mae McElroy Service Friday Graveside service for Alta Mae McElroy, 61, of Jonesville Road will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Daugherty Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charities. Mrs. McElroy died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 1996, at THC Hospital in Greenwood. She was employed by Columbus Container. Born in Russell Springs, Ky., April 10, 1935, she was the daughter of Otha and Sophie Simpson Yeadon. She married Everett J. McElroy May 5, 1951. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1980. She is survived by daughters, Sue Deweese, Ann Michael and Pam Steenbarger, all of Columbus; a brother, Orval Yeadon of Carrollton, Ky.; sisters, Martha Simpson of Russell Springs and Nora Wooten, Faye and Carrie Burton and Sophie Shepherd, all of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
