Bio

Sophie M. Shepherd, 75, of Daugherty Street, died at 7:53 a.m., Thursday, November 27, 2014, at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. Sophie was born on May 23, 1939, in Webbs Cross Road, Kentucky, to the late Otha and Sophie Simpson Yeadon. She married Paul Shepherd on June 5, 1957, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2000. Sophie was an amazing crocheter and enjoyed arts, crafts and spending time at home with her family. Sophie is survived by her sister, Carrie Burton of Columbus; a great-niece, Heather (Greg) Mathis of Columbus; great-great-nephews, Chase, Connor and Chance Mathis; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Sophie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arvis and Orval Yeadon; sisters, Martha Simpson, Mae McElroy, Orene Thompson, Nora Wooten and Lola Faye Burton and two infant brothers.
