Funeral Services for John C. Parks, 73, of Forbing, who died early Saturday at Willis-Knighton Hospital, will be at 2:30 p. m. today in Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. A. J. Parks, pastor of United Pentecostal Church of Longville. Burial will be in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Parks was born in Newton County, Miss. to John Quincy Parks and Emma Hollingsworth Parks. He formerly resided in Darnelle and had resided in Shreveport for the past four years. He was a retired fireman with the Louisiana Forestry Commission. Survivors include his widow; four sons, John O. Parks of Houston, Tex., Ray E. Parks of Bossier City, Carl W. Parks of French Settlement and Glen A. Parks of Haughton; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Falcon of Forbing and Mrs. Ruth Walker of Denham Springs; and 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Franklin Falcon Jr., Herman Walker Jr., W. J. Roy, Randy Roy, Wayne Parks and Rickey Parks, grandsons. Published in The Shreveport Times, August 5, 1972
