Paris News Paris, Lamar Co., Texas Wed. Aug. 2, 1944 Pg. 1 First Lt. Jasper C. Bailey of Weslaco, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Bailey of Rt. 6, Paris, was killed in action in France, July 15, his parents have been notified. He was one of five brothers, all in service overseas. His wife, the former Miss Dorothy Sutton, lives with her parents in Raymondville. Lieutenant Bailey, born here in 1911, was graduated from Paris High School and Paris Commercial College, and was owner and manager of Bailey's Cafes in Mercedes and Weslaco before entering service. Enlisting May 15, 1942, he was commissioned Dec. 10, that year, and trained with a tank division at Fort Knox, Ky., and Camp Hood, before going overseas. ~ Service ID: O-1014277.
