Bio
Marie Harrell Bohler, 82, of 209 Meadors Ave., Greenville, S.C., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health. Born on February 16, 1921, in Jacksonville, Ill., Mrs. Bohler was retired from Carolina Manufacturing (Hav-A-Hank) and a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Worship Center (Faith Assembly of God). Surviving are her loving and faithful husband of 42 years, Ernest; a daughter, Sharon Cochrane and son-in-law, Rev. Phil Cochrane, of Mauldin; and the light of her eyes, her grandson, Andrew Cochrane. She is also survived by five sisters, Esther Cox and Gladys Miller of Peoria, Ill., Gloria Wallace, Louise Tribble and Minnie Frye of Jacksonville, Ill., and two brothers, Howard Harrell and Bill Harrell of Jacksonville, Ill. She was predeceased by her parents, Jennie Maude and John Harrell Sr., three sisters, Kay Hart, Faye Stubblefield and Goldie Chaney, and six brothers, Chalmer Harrell, John Harrell, Owen Harrell, Rollie Harrell, Clyde Harrell and William Eugene Harrell. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 19:14, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer." The funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary Chapel, Century Drive, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Gerald Bohler and the Rev. Ed Brown will conduct the service. Her nephews, Dewey Sprouse, Jerry Sprouse, William Faulkner, Jerry Puckett, Robert Ward, Allen Puckett and Clay Sprouse will serve as her pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be a special neighbor, Wendell Singletary. The family is at the home, 209 Meadors Ave., Greenville. The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive is in charge of arrangements.
